How long have you been in business?
Ambassadors was founded in 2003 due to a shortage of nurses. Private duty caregivers provided families extra help while mom/dad was hospitalized.

Where is your office?
Our office is right outside the Texas Medical Center but we service an 80-mile radius.

How flexible are your schedules?
We offer families ultimate flexibility and can staff last minute but the more notice, the better so we can offer consistency and match our caregiver and client.

Do you drug screen and TB test your caregivers?
All caregivers must undergo testing, background checks, skills check and have a current TB skin test to have continued employment.

Are the caregivers employees of the company?
All caregivers are employees of the company and not contractors/1099. This means we take care of paying their taxes, worker’s comp and alleviate the legal burden from families.

Are the caregivers CPR certified?
It is not a requirement by the State of Texas but many of our caregivers do have it. They are also trained in medical conditions and in serviced throughout the year.

Do you run background checks and driving records on caregivers?
It is imperative that every caregiver have a background check, nurse aide registry checked yearly, criminal background checked yearly and ensure they are keeping current with any certifications.

How do I determine what level of care my loved one needs?
We will assess mom/dad and make recommendations.

Are meals and housekeeping included?
Light housekeeping is a task our caregivers can perform along with light laundry, ironing and other household duties.

Do you provide laundry services?
Our caregivers can help with light laundry, if the client prefers the caregiver is also able to take the dry cleaning or laundry to the cleaners.

How much does personal care cost? Does insurance cover any of it?
Long-term care insurance does pay for private duty services but please contact your provider. We are licensed and can assist with providing any information needed to expedite the start of care. The cost of service would be determined by how much you use us. Please contact us so that we may be able to assist you.

What is the difference between home health and personal home care assistance?
Home health care is a separate service provided for and paid for by Medicare to provide the skilled nursing tasks while you are at home. We work alongside home health to provide the non-medical services.

Will my insurance cover home health services?
Medicare pays for home health care as do some health insurance company. Please consult your insurance plan.

What should I watch for that might indicate that someone needs personal home care assistance?
Who uses our services include elderly who live alone, someone who has recently been hospitalized or suffered a fall, families who are concerned about mom/dad or families who live far away and need extra care for mom/dad

Can we arrange for occasional transportation to doctors’ appointments?
Yes we certainly can.

Do you provide caregivers for someone in an assisted living facility?
Yes we often do that as well so that our clients can age in place and continue to qualify for assisted living care.

How are caregiver scheduling and reliability managed?
We use a system to ensure our caregivers clock in and out from the client’s home, signed time sheets by the client and a supervisor is on-call 24/7.

Does Medicare pay for in-home senior care services when they are clearly needed?
No, Medicare will pay for skilled nursing care not private duty or custodial care at this time.

What kind of home care services do you provide?
Services are tailored to each client from personal care, grooming , physical assistance, house chores, cooking and feeding, transportation, run errands and much more.

Where do you provide services?
We will provide care anywhere our clients call home: We have even serviced clients in the hotels or extended stays.

Are your caregivers insured and bonded?
Yes, insured, bonded and licensed by the State of Texas.

Will I have a choice of who comes to my home?
Once we have consent forms to service you, we can send a caregiver to interview and meet you prior to services.

Will my family member always receive care from the same caregiver?
We can make it consistent with ampule notice.

Can Ambassadors help with medications?
WE can assist with medication reminders.

Can I change or discontinue the services my loved one receives?
Yes, you can change and cancel anytime.

How can I verify a shift was completed?
We have a system where caregivers clock-in and out from the client’s phone.

Do I need a physician’s authorization for your services?
No, we are non-medical and is considered concierge care and are not govern by Medicare.

What are the costs of your home care services?
Depends on how much you sue us. Please call for a free consultation.

Are home care services covered by insurance or Medicare?
No.

Do I pay the caregiver directly?
No, all billing and payment is through Ambassadors for your safety and convenience.

How is the privacy of my personal information maintained?
WE are governed by HIPAA so privacy laws is of utmost important to us.
